The Part 'Ready' Doesn't Cover

AgentsProduct craft

Before I started the WhatsApp medical agent for my wife's clinic, I bought one of these plug-and-play automation templates from a "template agency." I was curious if it would save me some time.

I opened it, checked what was there, poked around. Decided to do my own thing anyway. Luckily the template was very cheap :).

This week, debugging a RAG bug, that template popped into my head. Hadn't opened it in months, but I thought: maybe it already solved what I'm stuck on.

I've made several fixes to the system over the past few weeks, every one of them from real usage. None of them were in the template, because a template doesn't have real usage behind it, it's a demo. Looking at it now, I can tell immediately: Yeah, this won't work, and this will break. Couldn't have said that before I'd actually built and run it myself.

That's my issue with the "I built an agent in a weekend, now it runs 24 hours of my business" posts all over LinkedIn and YouTube. Getting something to look like a demo is easy, but creating something that survives real usage is a different game. It takes time and effort nobody puts in the video.
